What CHALKLINE Actually Is
CHALKLINE is a front-end design demo — browsable catalogs, carts, checkout flows, accounts, and an admin panel exploring what item and currency marketplaces could look like. Neither marketplace here is a real storefront.
No Real Transactions
The MM2 catalog runs a real Stripe test-mode checkout as a technical demo, but nothing is actually delivered in-game. The Minecraft catalog doesn't take payment at all — checkout there just logs a demo order.
Why Not Real Money for Real Items?
Real-money trading of Roblox items, DonutSMP coins, or Hypixel SkyBlock coins breaks each platform's rules, regardless of who's running the marketplace. It also carries real risk for buyers and sellers alike — account suspensions, chargebacks with no verifiable delivery, and a well-documented pattern of scams in this space.
This project is meant as a portfolio piece exploring UI, auth, and checkout flows — not a business. If you're building something people actually use, trust and dispute handling come from established marketplaces with track records, not a single-owner storefront.
